Alfred Farmers Market: Fresh, local food on Sundays thru October

Share:

The Alfred Farmers Market is winding down but there is still time to stock up on winter vegetables, meat, honey, and gifts for the holidays. The market is open on Sundays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and takes place on the corner of Main Street and Saxon Drive.

On Sunday, October 24th, ScandinaviRen’s will be back with her traditional and gluten-free baked goods.  Woodland Creatures by Terry Scott will be back as well. They were both vendors at the Renaissance Festival. Ellicottville Distillery has a variety of spirits for sale for holiday celebrations. Kellogg’s Alpacas and EIEIO farm sell their own yarn for those who love to make their own gifts. They have handmade items too. We have a wide variety of crafts and art that make great gifts from University students and area residents.

Living Acres Farm and EIEIO Farm have lots of vegetables.  EIEIO also sells chicken and lamb. Mascho Homestead Farm has beef and pork for sale.  If you are tired of finding the shelves bare at the stores, and the prices soaring, come to the market and get fresh local food from your local farmers.

There is a Kid’s Tent with a craft each week for the kids to make and take home. We will celebrate Halloween with a spider web craft. The vendors will have candy to give out and the raffle item is a Halloween decoration donated by Radiate Live Crafts. Weather permitting, Dave Mason will be performing live music.

Stay tuned for more details of the last, market of the season, happening on Halloween!!
