Troopers charged Romulo A. Mendivil, 30, of Fillmore with violating an order of protection on Friday in Caneadea. He was arraigned in Caneadea Town Court and released. On Oct. 6, troopers charged Mendivil with felony sexual misconduct with a child under the age of 13.

Troopers charged Joshua A. Bentley, 27, of Hume with second-degree menacing and second-degree felony criminal possession of a weapon on Oct. 7 at 11:08 a.m. in Granger. Troopers said they were investigating a menacing incident and determined that Bentley allegedly threatened the use of a weapon to harm two other parties on Old State Road in Granger.  Bentley was located at another location on Old State Road and arrested. He was arraigned in Friendship Town Court and released on pre-trial release to appear in the town of Granger court in November 2021. 

Troopers said after a complaint of a stolen vehicle on Schuyler Street in Belmont on Oct. 6, they located the vehicle in the possession of Peter McCarthy in Elmira.  McCarthy was arrested and transported back to the barracks in Amity for processing. McCarthy was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the village of Belmont court at a later date in October, 2021. 

Troopers were called to Amity on Tuesday for a missing child at 8:20 a.m. and the case was closed by investigation.

Troopers are investigating a driving a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license after an incident in Scio.

Troopers were called to the village of Belmont on Tuesday at 1:11 p.m. for neighborhood trouble and the situation was taken care of and closed.

Troopers were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Ward on Tuesday at 7:46 p.m. The suspicion was clarified and the case was closed.

Troopers were able to close a case from July with an arrest. Troopers charged Ryan McDonald, 32, of Genesee with felony fourth-degree grand larceny and unauthorized use of a vehicle without owner consent on Monday at 9 p.m.

Troopers said no one was injured when a Friendship woman, 48, caused heavy metal to her vehicle after a one-car accident in Wirt on Monday. 

Troopers charged an Angelica man, 31, with second-degree harassment for a threat on Monday in Amity at 4:24 p.m. He was arraigned and released.

Troopers are investigating an accident on White Hill Road in Alma reported on Monday around 11 a.m.

On Tuesday morning, troopers closed by investigating five calls within five hours. A call for a lost license plate in Amity, a property check in Belfast, a suspicious vehicle in Genesee, a landlord-tenant issue in Richburg and an assist of Bolivar Police.

Troopers said they are investigating a harassment complaint from Genesee on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday afternoon into the early evening, troopers closed four calls by investigation. A call for vehicle and traffic complaints in Hume, neighborhood trouble in Allen, a civil matter in Rushford and an animal complaint in New Hudson.

A Caneadea man, 20, was charged with misdemeanor using a vehicle without owner’s consent on Sunday at 2:12 p.m. in Wellsville. He was issued an appearance ticket.

Troopers are investigating an unattended death in Burns from Sunday evening.

On Sunday, Troopers responded to 14 calls they were able to close by investigation. Some of the calls included a 911 hang up in Genesee, assisting a citizen in Genesee, landlord-tenant issues in Angelica, vehicle and traffic complaint, ATV complaint Friendship, cattle complaint in Friendship, larceny in Angelica and disabled vehicle in Wellsville.

Troopers charged a with driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol level greater than .08% after a stop on Route 305 in Clarksville. Troopers said the man recorded a .26% blood alcohol content. They said during the investigation, the accused had limited coordination and slurred speech as well as the odor of alcohol. After failing several field sobriety tests, he was taken to the barracks in Fillmore for the arrest.
