David A. Howe Library Hosts Over 20 Employers on September 16th, From Noon til 4pm
From Staff Reports, 9/14/21
Rieta Sobeck-Lynch, Director of the Employment and Training for Allegany County is in a rare situation. For the first time in recent history, Allegany County has more jobs than can be counted. Almost every major employer is searching for new staff, from the NYS Department of Corrections to the Scio School District. The human services sector is acutely in need of employees, and area retail stores are being forced to limit hours and products. Healthcare operations are in dire straits, transportation services are stretched thin, and restaurants are just hoping that the workforce will return now that the pandemic focused unemployment benefits have ended.
