The Bills kicked off their preseason schedule a couple weeks ago and they definitely look like a Super Bowl contender. The majority of the team’s starters haven’t
even taken a snap and at times the backups have been flat out dominate. The offense has been moving the ball with ease regardless of who is under center. However, the defense looks especially formidable getting to the quarterback with a four man rush and flying to the ball on the back end.
The Bills’ young pass rushers AJ Epenesa and Greg Rousseau have been wreaking havoc on opposing offensive lines, knocking opponents off the ball with brute force and inhuman length en route to the quarterback. Rousseau has been particularly impressive with a couple sacks and countless pressures in just two games. He should challenge incumbent defensive end Mario Addison for a starting position.
On offense, backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has looked like a first round quarterback displaying poise in the pocket and making accurate throws. He has also shown off his above average athleticism that makes him the perfect backup for Josh Allen. In his return to Chicago, Trubisky put on a clinic in the first half with over 200 yards passing and a touchdown en route to a 48-15 dismantling of the Bears. In addition, running back Devin Singletary has looked like a new man running with balance and power, scoring a touchdown in each game.
With the regular season less than two weeks away, the Bills are poised to be a dominant force in the AFC. Bills Mafia should be excited as the team stands on the precipice for the first time in almost 30 years. The team has one more preseason game against the Packers this week.
