Harassment Charges

Tuesday August 17, 2021, Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 35 of Olean, charging him with Harassment 2nd. The charge stems from an incident that took place on North Main Street in June of 2020. He was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson with the Public Defender present. The accused pled guilty to the charge and released.

*Note this arrest is for a June 2020 crime. All the bad kids who think they’re off the hook because of the pandemic better think twice!

Friendship man arrested for DWI after West Almond traffic stop

On August 15, 2021, SP Amity Troopers arrested a male, of Friendship, NY for Driving While Intoxicated.

During a traffic stop on I-86 east bound in the town of West Almond, Troopers observed him exhibiting obvious signs of impairment and determined that he had been operating a motor vehicle while in an impaired condition.  He failed administered standardized field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.  He was transported to SP Amity for processing, where he refused to take a breath test. 

The accused was arraigned in the town of Angelica town court and released on his own recognizance.

Three New DWI/DWAI Arrests

Man from Buffalo arrested for DWI

On August 17, 2021 at 7:25 pm, Troopers out of SP Boston arrested a male, 67 of Buffalo, NY for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding.

Man from Clarence arrested for DWI

On August 9, 2021 at 3:35 pm, Troopers out of SP Clarence arrested a man, 19 of Clarence, NY for driving while intoxicated, moving from lane unsafely and no valid NY inspection.

Man from Perry arrested for DWAI

On August 9, 2021 at 1:42 pm, Troopers out of SP Warsaw arrested a 26 year-old of Perry, NY for driving while impaired by drugs, operating a vehicle with out a license, failure to obey traffic device, failure to obey flagman in work zone and obstructed view.

Generator Thief Busted

On July 11, 2021 at 1:31 pm, Troopers out of SP Clarence arrested a man, 64 of Buffalo, NY for Petit Larceny.

Troopers responded to a trespass complaint at Walmart on Transit Rd in the town Clarence, NY. Troopers worked with Walmart loss-prevention. On today’s date the man took a black max 3600 generator passing all points of purchase without paying. He was in the vehicle that was reported leaving the scene and was identified by his NYS drivers license matching the suspect in the video captured on the surveillance footage from Walmart. The accused was transported to SP Clarence for processing.

The alleged thief was issued an appearance returnable to the town of Clarence court in September 2021.

*The Black Max Generator, pictured above, is about $400 at Walmart, but is very short supply. Typically used for remote jobsite work where access to power isn’t available. Some people use these to power RV’s or even electronics while camping and can be super annoying if you camp nearby.
