Do you have any chemicals, weed killer, or rat poison sitting around? The Allegany County Department of Public Works is holding their annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection on September 11th, 2021.
The collection event will be held from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Belmont Transfer Station on County Rd 48 in Belmont. Items like chemicals, pesticides, insecticides, and pool chemicals can be brought in for proper disposal. Pre registration is required to participate.
A solid waste permit is NOT required and the collection is free to Allegany County residents. For more information, full list of acceptable materials and to pre-register, contact Tim Palmiter at 585-268-7282.
