Michael T. Baldwin Reports

Four Wellsville residents have been sentenced to state prison, a teen to probation and three cases remain outstanding in the murder case of 23-year-old Nicholas Burdge of North Main Street in Wellsville. Here’s what we know from the Allegany County court:

·         On January 13, 2021, Richelle L. Kyser of Wellsville(no photo available)  entered an Alford plea to the crime of second-degree attempted gang assault, with a potential sentence in state prison. An Alford plea is a guilty plea in criminal court, whereby a defendant in a criminal case does not admit to the criminal act and asserts innocence. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

·         Kristopher Delill pled guilty to Assault 2nd on January 13.  A sentencing date is not set yet. In addition, with the plea, an outstanding probation violation charge was dismissed. He admitted that he intended to cause serious physical injury by blunt force trauma. No sentencing date has been set.

·         Howard Burroughs is the only defendant who has not entered a plea.  His next appearance is April 28th at 1 p.m. for motions.
