Joan M. SAMPSON, 78, of Ulysses, PA, died Friday, April 16, 2021 in her home.  

Born January 7, 1943, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of John and Mary Cybulski Doucette.  On September 2, 1978, in Lester, PA, she married Dennis John Hall, who predeceased her on December 8, 1986.  On April 25, 1996, in Falconer, NY, she married Stephen M. Sampson, DDS, who survives.  She was employed as a dental assistant for over 40 years, the last 30 with her husband, Steve.  Joan was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Brookland.  She was happiest tending to her home, grounds, and farm.  She deeply loved her family and friends.  Joan saw herself as a mom to every person she met.  She particularly loved her canine children.  Her golden retriever, David, who survives her, was her final child.  

Surviving besides her husband, Steve, are:  two sons, Marc (Kate) Hanlon of Pine, CO and Eric (Wanda) Hanlon of Plainview, MN;  six grandchildren;  a niece;  and two nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Suzanne Marie Hanlon;  a brother, John “Jack” Doucette.  

A private funeral will be held at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses.  Rev. Douglas Cameron will officiate.  Burial and committal service will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Sinclairville, NY, with Rev. Carol Carlson officiating.
