Thelma M. CORNELL, 81, of Wellsville, NY, died Monday, December 27, 2021 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.  Born August 18, 1940, in Friendship, she was the daughter of George and Mildred Thomas Collins.  

In 1957, in Virginia, she married Paul Capron and they had three sons.  Paul predeceased her.  Later, she married Thomas Pressler, who predeceased her in 1992.  On November 26, 1995, in Willing, she married Carl D. Cornell, who survives.  

She was employed by L.C. Whitford as a custodian, retiring in 2005.  Thelma was a member of the Wellsville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where she was baptized on October 14, 1997.  

Surviving besides her husband, Carl, are:  two sons, Paul “Richie” (Kathy) Capron of Watkins Glen and Timothy Capron of Newark;  two stepsons, Mike (Judy) Cornell of Batavia and Philip (Sarah) Cornell of Pittsford;  a stepdaughter, Kimberly Cornell of Henrietta;  eight grandchildren;  one great-grandson;  several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and first two husbands, she was predeceased by a son, Joe Capron;  and two sisters, Jeanette Rewa and Lois Woodworth.  

Due to current precautions, a gathering to celebrate Thelma’s life will be held on a later date.  Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
