Dedication of America250 monument, Alumni Memorabilia Exhibit, Roque Tourney, Market Vendors, Festival Food to highlight Angelica’s 57th Anniversary Heritage Days Festival
From Heritage Days,
If you come to Heritage Days in Angelica for the focus on local history, you are sure to enjoy this year’s program. Sponsored by the Angelica Booster Citizens, the festival takes place in the town square at the center of Park Circle National Historic District.

Allegany County’s America250 Patriot’s Monument will be unveiled and dedicated at the east end of Park Circle on Saturday, August 1. There will be a Colonial Processional at 11:15 a.m. followed by the Dedication Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. and afterward a meet-and-greet with reenactors and descendants of Allegany County Patriots. Placement of the monument is a project of Catherine Schuyler Chapter, NSDAR.
It has been 30 years – 1996 – since the last class was graduated from Angelica Central School, prior to the merger with Belmont to form Genesee Valley CSD. The ACS Alumni Association will hold its final reunion event on Saturday evening, behind the old school building. There will be an exhibit of alumni memorabilia in the Grange building on Park Circle, open 10-to-5 Saturday & 10-to-4 on Sunday.
The croquet tournament on the unique “roque” court has been a highlight of Heritage Days since the event began in 1969. This year’s competition has 10 two-person teams competing for the championship. Semifinals are set for Saturday with the finals to take place Sunday afternoon.
In addition, the Heritage Days festival will feature:
Full lineup of live music in Park Circle bandstand // Self-guided audio walk/ride/drive thru Angelica’s school buildings history // Art-craft-antique market // Colonial Rooms open in Angelica Free Library // St. Paul’s Church open house & Sunday afternoon tea // Wagon rides thru Historic District // Antique vehicle & equipment display // Theme-basket auction // Festival food including Sunday chicken barbecue.
