August 9th in Island Park with local nature lovers!!

WELLSVILLE, NY — The Wellsville Development Corporation (WDC) invites local families to celebrate the fascinating world of pollinators during a fun-filled afternoon of nature, creativity, and hands-on learning at Island Park.
The Pollinator Discovery Event will take place on Sunday, August 9, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. The event is open to children of all ages, with activities designed primarily for children ages 2½ to 13.
Participants will enjoy an engaging afternoon that includes a pollinator-themed story, guided nature hike, make-and-take art activity, interactive learning stations, and a snack.
The WDC is excited to partner with community members who are passionate about nature and environmental education, including Georgia Jackson of Maple Moon, Becca Depue of Rooted in Nature, and local educators and nature enthusiasts Hannah Baker and Jaymie Marble.
The event is free to attend and RSVPs are not required; however, families are encouraged to pre-register as attendance will be capped to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
All parents or guardians must be present at the event to register their child(ren) and sign a liability waiver before participation. For the safety of all attendees:
- Children 6 years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
- Children 7 years and older may participate independently in the activities, but a parent or guardian must remain within Island Park for the duration of the event.
Families are encouraged to come prepared for outdoor activities and to dress appropriately for the weather.
