Anita Stevens passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and close friend. She was born on February 27, 1958, in Cuba, New York, and spent her childhood in Angelica, New York.

Anita is survived by her husband, Roger Stevens; her parents, David and Ann Jones; her siblings, Gwendolyn Glover (David), Kevin Jones, Roxanne Jones (Mark), Bradley Jones (Geri), and Caleb Jones; and her children, Gareth Scott (Heather), Odessa Scott (Nick), Nicole Calhoun, and Lisa Calhoun (Nicholas). She was a proud and loving grandma to all of her “babies.” Anita was preceded in death by her cherished granddaughter, Maci Scott.

After graduating from Angelica High School, Anita attended college for cosmetology in Syracuse, NY. She later followed her calling to care for others and became a nurse, a profession in which she was deeply loved by her patients and respected by her colleagues.

Anita enjoyed gardening, nature, kayaking, camping, traveling, music, and art. Her biggest passion was spending time with her family. She was a beloved mom/bonus mom. She was an amazing grandma who doted on all of her grandbabbies with love, fun, and creativity, cherishing every moment spent together. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Roger, and a great friend, sister, daughter, and aunt to all of her family. Her warmth, kindness, and love touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, bright smile, joyful nature, and openness to all.  

A private ceremony will be held for Anita, with a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
