Julie was born February 18, 1962 in Florida to Patricia Russell. At birth she was adopted by Robert and Janet Grant, brought to Wellsville and raised. She attended the Immaculate Conception School then transferred over to the Wellsville High School. Julie played on the Varsity basketball team and also met her first love, George McDowell. After graduation in 1980, Julie attended Adirondak Community College, Julie then married George in 1981. In 1982, she gave birth to her only child, Jennifer. Years later Julie moved back to her true Floridian roots. She met Carl Billmeyer, moved to Michigan and married, they then built a life together that resulted in a long lasting love and friendship. Julie was employed at a floral shop in Michigan where she enjoyed making beautiful flower arrangments and also was the Store Manager of the Dollar General in her area.

In 2020, after many years of searching, Julie finally found her biological sister and learned about her family. Something she talked about knowing for many many years. She is survived by her partner, Carl Billmeyer, her daughter Jennifer McDowell, Grandaughter Adrianna McDowell, biological sister Nancy and biological brother Guy.  Julie was predeseased by her adoptive parents Robert and Janet Grant, her birth mother Patricia Russell, biological brother Steven and biological sister Barbara.

Julies pride and joy was her daughter Jennifer and more importantly her grandaughter Adrianna. Julie didn’t get to see her girls often but the love she had  for them was always expressed in any way she could do so. The few short visits made to Michigan to see “Grandma Julie” filled her heart with so much love.

Julie will be remembered for her unconditional love, her goofiness and sense of humor, and her strength to keep fighting every single day. She had a passion for music, she lived her life wild and free riding Harleys and taking adventures in the Florida sunshine. Julies absolute best friend was her dog Penney, who never would leave her side. She enjoyed watching her two favorite football teams, the NY Giants and the Detroit Lions. She also would send her daughter Jennifer a “Go Bills” text every game day for good luck.

There will be no memorial service at this time. Julie will be deeply missed and forever loved by all her family and friends.
