All unseasonal items and winter decor must be removed by March 30

From the Woodlawn Cemetery Association,

WOODLAWN CEMETERY in Wellsville has begun its task of spring cleanup. We are requesting those who maintain a loved one’s grave remove all Christmas and unseasonal items, as well as broken unkept items from graves by March 30. 2026.   Remaining items will be removed unless you make arrangements to save them by calling the cemetery office  585-593-1541. The removal of these items will be helpful to the groundskeeping staff as they prepare for Spring and Memorial Day week.

If arrangements have been made with the staff, items will be held until April 14. 2026.   After that date, they will be discarded.  We understand these items may be meaningful however it is important for the ease of maintaining 36 acres and over 9,000 graves that we enforce the Rules and Regulations of the cemetery which state in part:

“The Woodlawn Cemetery Association reserve the right to remove all flowers, wreaths, or other decoration from graves as soon as they become unsightly.”

Please note: Copies of our newly revised Rules and Regulations are available at the cemetery office. If you would like a copy, the office is open Thursdays 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  If you have any questions, you may call anytime 585-593-1541.
