The First Step Family Resource Center, located at 83 North Main Street in Wellsville, invites families and caregivers to take part in a full week of free, family-focused programs designed to support early childhood development, connection, and community well-being.
From February 9 through February 13, the center will host a variety of activities including open play opportunities, storytime, crochet club, community support services, and special event, all in a welcoming, inclusive environment for families with young children.
Weekly Highlights Include:
- Community Resource & Support
Available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, offering guidance, referrals, and support for local families. - Sensory-Friendly Open Play & Open Family Play
Safe, engaging play opportunities designed to encourage exploration, creativity, and social interaction for children of all abilities. - Dolly Parton Imagination Library Storytime & Play (Tuesday)
A fun, literacy-focused program combining storytelling and hands-on play. - Crochet Club (Wednesday)
A creative and social opportunity for caregivers and community members. - Fidelis Dental Health Day (Thursday)
Featuring interactive “Flossing Fun” activities to promote healthy habits for children and families. - Second Anniversary Celebration (Friday, 12–2 PM)
A special celebration marking two years of serving the Wellsville community, with activities and refreshments for families.
“We are proud to be a place where families feel supported, welcomed, and connected,” said a representative of the First Step Family Resource Center. “Our programs are designed to meet families where they are and to strengthen the community through early childhood engagement.”
The First Step Family Resource Center is a program of Ardent Solutions, in collaboration with the Allegany County Early Childhood Coalition, working together to support families and children throughout Allegany County.
All programs are free and open to the public.
