Jane L. “Janey” Hartman, 79, of Cty. Rte. 14, passed away peacefully Friday Jan. 30, 2026 at Elderwood at Hornell after an extended illness.

Janey was born December 16, 1946 in Wellsville to the late Burdette and Mary (Kalkoff) Gleason. On November 13, 1971 in Wellsville, she married Daniel W. Hartman who survives and resides in Canisteo.

Janey was a very active member of the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church where she and her husband worked the church food pantry for 20 years. She was very involved in the Wednesday night youth club house ministry for several years along with other church functions when a helping hand was needed.

Janey was a great “Disney” enthusiast who collected anything Disney. Lots of Mickey Mouse and other memorabilia and history, and who made several trips to Disney Land and Disney World. She also enjoyed the “older” British sport cars and racing circuit and tried to make as many races as would time and distance would allow.

In addition to her husband Dan of 54 years, she is survived by a daughter Jodi Hartman of Canisteo, a son Daniel E. Hartman of Oregon, a grandson Damion Hartman of Canisteo and her brother William Gleason of Rochester. Janey was predeceased by a sister Gail Smith.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will take place Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church, Cty. Rte. 69, Canisteo, with a reception to follow.
