The Village of Wellsville and the Wellsville Development Corporation make Main Street Shine!!
From the WDC,
Each winter, as the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, Main Street in Wellsville transforms into a glowing corridor of holiday warmth. The sparkling Christmas lights that frame our village’s heart have become a cherished tradition—one that invites families downtown, lifts community spirit, and reminds us of the beauty found in small-town togetherness.
What many may not realize is that this beloved display exists thanks to the dedication of the Wellsville Development Corporation (WDC). This small but mighty nonprofit—comprised of nine volunteer board members—works year-round to ensure the lights continue to shine. Through community fundraising, the WDC purchases new fixtures, replaces worn or broken lights, and reinvests every donated dollar back into Main Street beautification projects.

Their efforts are quiet but essential. Without this group’s commitment, the village simply wouldn’t glow the way it does each winter.
Equally deserving of recognition is the Village of Wellsville, whose partnership makes the tradition possible. Village crews carefully store the lights and handle the significant work of installing them each season and taking them down again once the holidays pass. Their time, labor, and support ensure that the WDC’s vision becomes a reality.
To the volunteers of the WDC and the hardworking Village staff: thank you. Your dedication brings joy to thousands each year and helps Wellsville shine—literally and figuratively—through the holiday season.
