Whitesville: Boil Water Advisory Lifted

“Water is safe to consume and cook with”

From The Town of Whitesville,

A mechanical failure at the Whitesville Water Treatment Facility lead to a boil water advisory earlier this week. Repairs have been made to they system and water samples have been tested by the Allegany County Department of Health. The water system is back in operation and the water is safe.

At no time did testing determine that e.coli or other dangerous cloriorm bacteria was in the water supply. The initial boil advisory was issued as standard protocol whenever a public water supply has a mechanical failure.
