The Wellsville Creative Arts Center is delighted to announce its Holiday Adult Ceramic Classes, a festive and inspiring series of hands-on courses designed for artists and hobbyists of all skill levels. Running from November 17, 2025, through January 26, 2026, these 8-week sessions provide a perfect opportunity to explore your inner creativity, learn new techniques, and enjoy the joy of making art and gifts for the holiday season.
Whether you are new to clay or a returning student, WCAC’s holiday programming offers an engaging environment for artistic growth, relaxation, and connection with Wellsville’s vibrant arts community. From ceramic wheel-throwing and hand-building to sculptural explorations, each class is led by experienced instructors who guides participants through every step of the creative process.
Our Holiday 2025–2026 Class Offerings Include:
Ceramic Wheel-Throwing – All Skill Levels – Wednesdays – 2pm–4pm & 6pm–8pm
A class for everyone! Beginners will learn the fundamentals of centering, shaping, and trimming clay, while experienced students can refine their technique and explore advanced forms. Using the potter’s wheel, you will create functional and decorative pieces such as mugs, bowls, and vases, perfect for everyday use or as handmade gifts. Enjoy a relaxed, supportive studio environment where creativity and skill come together beautifully.
Ceramic Sculpture – All Skill Levels – Wednesdays – 5pm – 7pm
Explore the art of building with clay as you learn to shape expressive forms, experiment with texture, and bring your creative ideas to life. Guided by experienced instructors, you’ll discover sculptural techniques that blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design — perfect for both beginners and seasoned artists looking to expand their creative voice.
Ceramic Hand-Building – All Skill Levels – Thursdays – 1pm –3pm
Discover the art of shaping clay by hand through slab, coil, and pinch techniques. This class encourages creativity and experimentation as you craft ornaments, vessels, and sculptural pieces with your own unique flair. Explore surface decoration, texture, and glazing methods while developing confidence and a deeper understanding of form and design. Perfect for both beginners and experienced artists seeking a relaxing, expressive studio experience.
Try Clay: Holiday Edition (Beginner Wheel-Throwing) – First & Last Saturday of each month, 1pm – 3pm
A short introduction to ceramics for beginners – ideal for all newcomers wanting to learn and experience the magic of the wheel throwing and/or create handmade gifts.
Studio Space Rentals (Without Instructor)
For experienced independent artists seeking flexible studio time, WCAC offers open studio access to our facility including kilns and workspace. A perfect way to work on your own projects during the winter months.
Join the WCAC Creative Community
Registration is now open, and space is limited. Participants are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot in these popular seasonal classes. All materials are included unless otherwise noted, and finished works will be fired in WCAC’s professional ceramic studio.
