Collmer Report: Avoca-Prattsburgh and Andover-Whitesville could meet in boys soccer Class D2 finals

The Avoca-Prattsburgh boys earned the Number One seed in Class D2 boys Soccer Sectionals and will receive a first-round bye.

The Titans (10-5-1) will host either No.8 Jasper-Troupsburg or No. 9 Scio-Friendship Friday night October 24 under the lights in Avoca.

A-P tied 0-0 with Canisteo-Greenwood this past Friday night to share the Steuben County Boys tournament championship.

The Titans are playing their best soccer of the season right now. A recent 2-1 setback versus undefeated Naples (14-0) along with two victories over Arkport-Canaseraga (10-5) and their stalemate versus C-G (12-3-1) has them playing well at the right time heading into Sectionals.  Junior Carter Button leads A-P with 10 Goals and 8 Assists. Sophomore J.J Crowder has 7 goals and 2 assists. Senior Elias Putnam has 6 Goals and 1 assist.  Senior Goalie Zach Heale has allowed 17 goals this season with a 1.04 Goals against Average. He has 8 shutouts on the season. 

Andover-Whitesville (9-7) earned the Number three seed in Class D2 and will Host Lima-Christian Friday October 24th.

Junior Brody Vance leads AW with 20 Goals and 7 Assists. Senior Colton Calladine has 12 goals and 15 assists.

Four of AW’s losses have come to Fillmore (15-1) and Genesee-Valley/Belfast (13-1-2) who are two of the Top three Seeds in Class D1.
