Jodi Brown is a veteran in the classroom and school leadership
From WSCD,
We are excited to announce that Jodi Brown of Houghton has been hired as the new Secondary School Assistant Principal during their regular school board meeting on Tuesday. She will start in her new role later this month.
Ms. Brown comes to Wellsville from Fillmore Central School where she taught art for nearly 23 years. She led a variety of extracurricular clubs such as SADD, the High School Student Council, Art Club, People Promoting Peace, directed school plays/musicals and organized the annual Fine Arts Festival. She was also Fillmore’s district webmaster and maintains their social media accounts.
Most recently, she was the Teacher on Special Assignment for technology integration in the district. In that role, she was responsible for collaborating with all teachers in the district to examine and identify areas that will benefit from technology integration.
“I am beyond excited to join the Wellsville Central School District as an assistant principal at the Secondary School,” Ms. Brown said. “Everyone I have met so far has been very kind and welcoming. I’m looking forward to meeting and connecting with more members of the staff, student body, families, and the community.”
In 1999, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art and Design Education from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. After that, she earned her Master of Science in Education from the State University of New York College at Brockport in 2006. In January, she received her Advanced Certificate in School District Leadership and School Building Leadership from the State University of New York College at Fredonia.
Welcome to the Wellsville family, Ms. Brown!
