Alfred State College (ASC) kicked off Homecoming 2025 by launching the largest comprehensive campaign in school history, Unleashing Potential. With the silent phase completed, ASC announced that more than $32 million has already been raised toward the $40 million goal.

Momentum is already strong. That early progress puts the campaign far ahead of schedule and reflects the confidence of alumni, friends, and partners who believe deeply in the college’s mission. Their support aligns with Alfred State’s distinctive value: preparing career-ready graduates who meet workforce needs in high-demand industries. This workforce focus is highly valuable to students seeking affordable education that leads directly to opportunity, and it resonates with supporters who view Alfred State as an essential source of talent for the region’s future.

“When you support Alfred State, you’re investing in students in a way that will change their lives, their families, and their communities,” stated President Dr. Steven Mauro. “ASC is more than a campus, it is a launching pad for the next generation of leaders, innovators, and citizens. With partnerships with alumni and friends of the college we will not just sustain our success, we will multiply it.”

The campaign, built on the strength of four pillars, will sustain Alfred State’s ability to provide a top-ranked, affordable education:

  • Amplify Affordability for All
  • Energize Our Caring Community
  • Ignite Career Readiness
  • Power the Pioneer Fund

The public phase was announced in true Alfred State fashion. Alumni and friends explored hands-on displays where faculty, staff, and students showcased the work being done in classrooms and labs, from heavy equipment operation simulators to surveying instruments to tours of nursing simulation facilities.

Vice President for Institutional Advancement Danielle White added, “This is an opportunity to continue the legacy of memorable experiences and life-changing support and opportunity that our 60,000+ alumni often reflect upon. This is a defining moment for Alfred State. With your help, we will achieve something remarkable.”

During the announcement, Dr. Mauro and White thanked members of the campaign steering committee, lead donors, and alumni partners whose early support made the $32 million milestone possible. The celebration included streamers and the unveiling of a campaign thermometer to track progress toward the goal.

The next event to share the campaign’s vision will be held in Rochester at the Genesee Valley Country Club on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5–7 p.m. hosted by Bill and Rhonda Goodrich.
