NYS Trooper K9 Dunn to retire after a storied career in law enforcement

Today, March 28, 2025, New York State Trooper K9 Dunn will report for his final day on patrol, marking the end of an incredible career with Troop K’s narcotics K9 unit.

For the past seven years, K9 Dunn has been a loyal partner to Trooper Edward E. Reiser, playing a crucial role in law enforcement. His career highlights include:

– Hundreds of seizures, including illegal firearms and large quantities of narcotics

– Multiple fugitive apprehensions

– Over $10 million in narcotic-related U.S. currency recovered

As K9 Dunn trades in his shield for a well-earned retirement, he’ll be welcoming a new K9 companion at home — K9 Vinn, who carries on his legacy as another proud namesake of Trooper Vincent A. Dunn. No doubt, he’ll have big paws to fill! 🐕💙
