Alfred legislator will give updates, answer questions, meet with seniors
From The Alfred Senior Lunch Site,
Jan Burdick, Allegany County Legislator for District V, which includes Alfred, Almond, West Almond, Birdsall, Burns, Grove, and Allen, will visit the Alfred Senior Lunch Site on Monday, February 10th.
Burdick, along with other District V legislator Brooke Harris, previously visited the lunch site to meet the seniors, share information, and provide a point of contact for people’s concerns. The visits were so informative and helpful that site manager Amie Acton was eager to invite Burdick back. Burdick is also the chair of the committee that oversees, among other things, the Office for the Aging, making her a valuable resource for area seniors. As with her previous visit, Burdick is expected to share insights and upcoming issues and decisions that will affect her senior constituents as well as answer relevant questions the seniors may have.
The Senior Lunch Site welcomes community members over 60 as well as spouses or caregivers that are under 60. Anyone interested in coming to this event or lunch in general needs to reserve a meal in advance by calling site manager Amie Acton at 585.808.5201 by noon the day before. The Alfred lunch site meets on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at the Union University Church Center in the village of Alfred.
Lunch is served around noon, people arrive for cards, puzzles, and socialization around 11am.
