Kyle Dunn, Curator, to present the story of Corporal Richard Brookins

Eldred, PA – The Curator of the Eldred WWII Museum, Kyle Dunn, will speak at the Museum next Friday, December 20th.

Dunn will speak on December 20, 2024, at 6:00 pm in the Museum’s Mitchell Paige Hall. The event will be followed by a reception with cookies and cocoa and is free and open to the public.

The Presentation is titled “The Tale of the American Saint Nick,” a title referring to the story of Corporal Richard Brookins, who was part of the 112th Regiment, part of the 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania National Guard (known as the Keystone Division).  In 1944, they had been sent to relieve troops battling to retake Huertgen Forest. After sustaining heavy casualties, they were sent to regroup and rest in the village of Wilt, Luxembourg, and that’s where the story begins.

Kyle Dunn grew up in nearby Portville, NY. Armed with an intense passion for WWII history and aviation history, Kyle volunteered at the museum for many years. He began his professional career as a Curator of the Eldred WWII Museum on April 1st of this year.
