It takes quite a lot to stun Hornell’s Robert Peisher.
He’s better known as Bob and best known as Peish, the guy who broadcasts videos of sports, events and news to everyone in Hornell and the region.
However, he also has another lesser-known title as Hornell Kiwanis Club President. Because he’s seen so much broadcasting, he’s seen it all.
But this past weekend, he was at a loss for words as a near-record 184 cars attended the 42nd Hornell Kiwanis Club Father’s Day Car Show at Kanakadea Park.
“It’s greater than expected. I can’t believe it,” Peisher said. “We were deciding whether or not to have it and we got together as a Kiwanis Club and said, ‘Yes, let’s do it.’ And what a turnout! Absolutely amazing. I was shocked. And the weather was perfect.”
It was the 42nd show and not “annual” because the pandemic stopped the show form happening. However, this year, thousands attended and something else happened.
The show was supposed to end at 2 p.m. but spectators and more cars kept coming in the park!
