The donations were made in the memory of Emily Campbell and Timothy Walsh

Allegany County Ancient Order of Hibernians Treasurer Bruce Harrington (center) donates Local Grocery food cards to Gene Melasi (left) and Director Jim Campbell (right) of the Catholic Charities Joyce Family Food Pantry in Wellsville, NY.

The donations were made to honor the memory of two souls with strong connections to the AOH and Catholic Charities: Emily Campbell, passed away in October of 2021 and was an tireless volunteer at the Catholic Charities Joyce Food Pantry. Tim Walsh, retired Village of Wellsville Chief of Police, passed away suddenly last December and was a member of the AOH and longtime supporter of Catholic Charities. You can read the obituaries of each below.

The local AOH Division has been donating annually to the food pantry since 2013 to help eliminate hunger in Allegany County. Our June AOH Irish Bowling Tournament in Andover as Well as our annual September Island Park AOH Car Show fundraisers allow us to help local organizations like the Food pantry “ Stated Treasurer Harrington.

Director Jim Campbell and his volunteer team help service and feed close to 3800 individuals in our region. Thank you Jim and Gene and team for all your efforts at the food pantry!
